Create a complete itinerary that lists

• Flights with times for takeoff and landing times, flight numbers, confirmation codes and contact phone numbers. Don't forget to bring your frequent flyer number and double check that it is in the system.
• Rental car confirmation numbers
• Schedules and other info for any trains, ferries, or other transportation
• Hotel names, addresses, contact phone numbers and confirmation numbers
• Information about the best way to get from the airport or train station to your hotel in each destination
• Staple any backup documentation or confirmation sheets to the back of your itinerary

It's helpful to email a copy of your itinerary to yourself and a friend in case your paperwork is lost.
